Vehicle Technician

Heavy Vehicle Technician / Licensed Vehicle Tester

The successful applicant will:

  • Currently be a heavy vehicle tester & have or willing to obtain a bus testers license
  • Be Vehicle safety focused & able to demonstrate this
  • Be aligned with the business Purpose & Culture

  • Be Accountable for the responsibilities of their roles
  • Be willing to continue to learn and develop their skills
  • Have a minimum of 4 years post trade experience
  • Have a high attention to detail & high accuracy level
  • Have excellent phone & communication skills
  • Have good computer skills.
  • The core Responsibilities & Outcomes for this role include:
  • High quality servicing and repairs on all makes and models of cars, 4WD’s, and commercial vehicles including buses
  • Work independently and autonomously
  • Willingness to maintain and improve skills
  • High quality customer service by phone and in person
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of inspections
  • Supervision and training of apprentices
  • Assist supervising workshop in absence of owners
  • Contribute to the ‘Continuous Improvement’ philosophy of the business
  • Other activities that serve the team and business as required.

Vehicle Technician

Leading Hand Automotive Technician

With the newly developed branch of Ballarat Roadworthy Centre - Ballarat Automotive Service Centre, we are currently seeking a highly motivated individual to join our dynamic team as a Leading Hand Technician.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Ensure job allocation and workflow to achieve the best outcomes for customers and Ballarat Roadworthy Centre. 
  • Train and support apprentices. 
  • Develop all workshop technician skills and training. 
  • Act as the workshop link of communication with customers, stakeholders, and the administration team. 
  • Ensure each vehicle leaves at the highest standard as set by Ballarat Roadworthy Centre / Ballarat Automotive Service Centre. 
  • Ensure all workshop KPIs are met. 
  • Provide technical expertise on the workshop floor. 
  • Collaborate with the Service Advisor to maximise workshop time and ensure the quality of completed repairs. 
  • Adhere to and enforce Ballarat Roadworthy Centre’s Quality Assurance Processes. 
  • Maintain vehicle security and presentation standards. 
  • Coordinate with all relevant team members to ensure timely job completion.
  • Ensure a safe, clean, and attractive working environment by following housekeeping, safety, and security procedures. 
  • Uphold Ballarat Roadworthy Centre’s standards and achieve set KPIs.

 Key Skills Required 

Proven leadership and management skills. 

  • High level of mechanical knowledge with both LV and HV. 
  • Roadworthy experience. 

Performance Standards 

  • Achievement of monthly technician efficiencies. 
  • Prevention and resolution of customer complaints caused by or related to the workshop.
  • Adherence to all internal procedures as directed by management. 
  • Commitment to work health and safety by following workplace procedures, maintaining tools and equipment, reporting unsafe conditions, and using personal protective equipment as required.
